Dear Lexington Residents,

Welcome to the Lexington Local School’s Transportation Department Web Page. We transport over 2000 students each and every day, to and from school. Our Director, Johneen Gordon, and the full-time and substitute drivers take our work in transporting our students and their safety very seriously.

Each and every year, our drivers must attend five credit hours of in-service training to reinforce our safety procedures, driving skills and student interaction. It is our top priority to make sure our Lexington students arrive safely and in a timely manner to school and home again. Our staff realizes this job cannot be done by our department alone. Support is needed from the administration, our co-workers and most importantly, our parents and guardians to make sure each year is a successful one! We encourage families to be involved in the education process of their children and that includes the transportation of the students. It is helpful for parents to remind their children that it is equally important to obey ALL RULES on the bus just as they need to do so at school. Transportation handbooks are distributed at the beginning of the year to inform the children of proper school bus etiquette and safety procedures.

In closing, on behalf of the transportation department of the Lexington Local Schools, we would like to personally thank you for your continued support of our district and our children!
