NHS Treated Our Local Heroes
In honor of the anniversary of 9/11, Lexington High School’s National Honor Society treated our local heroes to a delicious lunch of pizza, pop, and brownies from Gionino's to express our heartfelt gratitude for everything they do to keep our community safe. THANK YOU!
Logan B. All-State Orchestra
A huge congratulations to Logan B. for qualifying for the All-State Orchestra! Last year, Logan made it to the All-State Band, and now, he’s made history as the first Lexington student to qualify for two ensembles on two different instruments!

Spanish Club

Students in Memoirs class enjoyed having a discussion over the beginning of the book, "Educated" by Tara Westover. They all did a great job of sharing their thoughts!

Roca, Papel, Tijeras!
Mrs. Santamaria’s Spanish class at Lexington High kicked off the day with rounds of "roca, papel, tijeras" (rock, paper, scissors) and "uno, dos, tres, ya!" to practice numbers in Spanish. They also love the desk-less setup, which has led to more open and lively conversations!
Clarissa C. McGowan Courage Award
Join us in celebrating Clarissa C. The Mansfield Rotary Club presented Clarissa with the McGowan Courage Award at a ceremony at Kingwood Center on Tuesday, May 7. The Rotary Club honored local high school students who have faced life experiences of adversity and hardship with extraordinary courage, tenacity, and fortitude. Band Director Zak Wilkins nominated Clarissa for the award. Congratulations Clarissa!
Mansfield Noon Optimist Club
Congratulations to Kaylie E., Kylie G., and Darcie R. The Mansfield Noon Optimist Club honored all three students at a dinner just before spring break. Kaylie and Kylie were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and community involvement. Darcie was also recognized and won an Optimist Scholarship!
Youth in Government Conference
Mr. Kathrein and Mrs. Rice took sixteen students from LHS to participate in the Youth in Government Conference at the Capital last week. This is the seventh year that Lexington has participated in the conference. Over 200 students from around Ohio participated. The students were paired up and they spent the school year preparing bills to present at the State Capitol House on March 21 and March 22, 2024. Darcie R., served as the President of the Senate, and Jacob H., served as a lobbyist. All seven of the Lexington's bills passed the committee phase and were passed in the House and Senate. Two of which were signed into law by the Youth Governor.
Lexington received several top honors for their hard work and dedication to civic involvement. The event culminated in student elections. JayByx M. was elected to serve as the 2025 Youth Governor. Katya P. was elected to be the 2025 Secretary of State. Scott B. was selected as the top Senator. Darcie R. was selected as the top Committee Chair. Jacob H. was selected as the top Lobbyist.
In addition, Darcie R., Scott B., and JayByx M. were chosen to represent Ohio at the Conference on National Affairs this summer, which is held in North Carolina.

35th Annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards
Cora P. and her teacher, Diane Eifrid, were celebrated at the 35th Annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards Program. Cora was recognized for her outstanding academic achievements in the classroom. She's ranked #1 in her class and chose Mrs. Eifrid as her person of positive impact. Congratulations to both Cora and Mrs. Eifrid!
High School Orchestra Earns Highest Superior Rating
Congratulations to the High School Orchestra for earning the highest superior rating possible at Upper Arlington’s Central Ohio String Festival!
Logan B. Performed with OMEA All State Band
Congratulations to junior trombonist Logan B. who performed with the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) All-State-Band at the Columbus Convention Center during the annual OMEA Professional Development Conference. Logan was chosen as one of 90 top band students from across the state to be in this competitive honor band in the state of Ohio and is the seventh trombonist from Lexington to be named to the group.
OMEA East Central Region Orchestra

World History Guest Speakers
Mr. Morrow’s World History class had several guest speakers visit their class. Thank you to Justin Roseborough, Tech Sergeant retired 179th Airlift Wing, Mr. Steele and Dean Proudfoot, US Navy, Vietnam for coming in and sharing their experiences with our students.
