Eastern Fine Arts Month
Eastern Elementary kicked off Youth Fine Arts Month with Lexington's Mayor Brian White's reading of the Youth Arts Month Proclamation. The Proclamation will be hanging on the main wall of Eastern all month. Eastern's students will have the opportunity to celebrate Youth Fine Arts Month by participating in various activities throughout the month.
Danica S 2nd at Tri County Spelling Bee
Congratulations to Danica S. (6th Grade) for taking 2nd place in the Tri-County Spelling Bee out of 27 spellers from Morrow, Richland, and Crawford Counties. Danica also won the Richland County Bee earlier this month!
2021 Mathcounts Competition
Congratulations to Jesse H. from Lexington Junior High and Owen W. from Eastern Elementary who are advancing to the Mathcounts Invitational on February 25th after an amazing regional performance. A special congratulations to Jesse H. who placed in the top 12 in the region!
4th Grade Academic Challenge
Congratulations to the 4th grade academic challenge team from Eastern, who came in 2nd place at their recent virtual competition hosted by MOESC. Team members are Abby Q., Marissa R., Axl L., Max A., and Dominic G. Well done!
2021 Richland County Spelling Bee
Miles P., Danica S., Gianni R., and Ethan C. represented Eastern Elementary in the Richland County Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Danica S. who took First (1st) Place, and to Miles P., who took Third (3rd) Place! Both students are now headed to the Tri County Spelling Bee.
Mr. Grist's Fan Club
Before he was the Eastern Elementary Principal, Mike Grist was a Lexington high school basketball star and student section favorite! Addison W. modeled a student section t-shirt from 2006 that one of Mr. Grist's friends made and passed on so Addison could show support for her principal. Eastern is happy to have you Mr. Grist!
Supply Pick-up
Last evening the 4th graders from Eastern picked up their supplies. We enjoyed seeing everyone! Please remember the supply pick-up/drop off for 5th grade is tonight, 5/14/ from 5-7, 6th grade is Friday, 5/15 from 5-7, and anyone who couldn't make it these times is welcome to come Monday, May 18th from 9-11 am or 5-7 pm.
Eastern Virtual Fine Arts Show
Eastern Elementary students recently had a virtual Fine Arts show which included Visual and Performing Arts. Here are pictures of some of the students and staff who participated in the Fine Arts show. Everyone had a great time showcasing their talents. Way to go Eastern!

5th Grade Academic Challenge Team
Our Eastern Elementary 5th grade Academic Challenge team competed recently in the MOESC Academic Challenge Competition. The competition included 28 teams from Crawford, Richland and Ashland Counties. Our Eastern team took 1st place out of those 28 teams competing! Congratulations Owen W., Danica S., Sylvia S. and Gianna B! Great job!
2020 Richland County Spelling Bee
Congratulations to the Eastern and Junior High students who participated in the 2020 Richland County Spelling Bee. 6th grader, Addie S. earned First Place and will advance to the Tri-County Spelling Bee in February. Drayton B. and Natalie H. placed in the top 12 and will also be competing in the Tri-County Bee. 60 total students from Richland County competed in the Spelling Bee. Sixth Grade Academic Challenge Online Competition
The Eastern Elementary sixth grade academic challenge team competed in an online competition in December. Eastern's team placed fifth in the nation! They beat the reigning National Champions from last year to take first place in the state of Ohio. Wow! What an awesome accomplishment! Congratulations to these amazing sixth graders!

Gavin's Illustrated Calendar
6th Grader Gavin proudly shows off the purchase he made using funds he earned selling a calendar that he illustrated himself. His calendar is awesome and he discovered others thought so and wanted to buy a copy. What started as a cute gift for his mom turned into a hit with others and a great economics, social skills and life lesson. Way to go Gavin!
