The Lexington Board of Education met in regular session in the boardroom at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017
Mr. Robert Whitney, President, called the meeting to order. Roll was called by the Treasurer.

VISITORS / COMMUNICATIONS / RECOGNITIONS
Mr. Whitney introduced the Board, the Superintendent and the Treasurer ot the visitors in attendance, welcomed visitors
to the meetingand asked if any visitors would like to be recognized.
Student Representative, Anne Olecki provided an update regarding District activities, including the following:
Arts: Musical was a big success
May concert schedule: High School Orchestra, May 7 at 7:30; High School Choir, May 11, at 7:30; High School Band, May 16 at 7:30
Sports: Spring sports are half-way finished and nearing the end of the regular season
Saturday, April 29th, is the second half of Lexington Boys' Tennis Invitational
Saturday, May 6th, we host OCC Boys' Tennis Championship
Lexington hosts the regional track meet May 25th and May 27th
Baseball is 12 and 5 and second in the OCC
Softball is winding down its season, and has done better than expected for a young team
School: Juniors went to mock wreck on April 25th
This week winds down our state testing
The first two weeks in May will be AP testing
Prom is May 6th at Mid-Ohio Conference Center
High School Academic Awards ceremon is May 15th at 7:00 in the auditorium
Principal's Recognition Breakfast is Thursday, May 4th
3.5 Breakfast is May 11th
Students are getting petitions for next year's student council
National Honor Society will assist with, and Lexington will host the Special Olympics, Saturday, May 13th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
MD Prom is Friday, April 28th, from 7-10 pm in the cafeteria
Seniors: Last full day for seniors is May 19th
Senior exams are May 16th - May 19th
Last official day for seniors and the graduation priactice is May 22nd
Graduation is May 28th at 2:00 pm
Last day for K-11 students is May 25th
The Board recognized and thanked Anne as the outgoing student representative. High School Principal, Jeremy Secrist, informed the Board that Abigail Vincent has been selected as the incoming student representative for the 2017-2018 school year.
The Board recognized various District students including Rylee, Trey, Peyton, Lauren, Seth , Luke and Serena for their outstanding accomplishmentsthis school year as submitted by their building principals.
RESOLUTION
23-17 Motion by Mr. Schuster, seconded by Mrs. Weirich, to approve the adoption of a resolution to honor Board President, Robert Whitney's fifty-three (53) consecutive years as a member of the Board of Education by naming the Board of Education meeting room, the Robert H. Whitney Board of Education Meeting Room.

FINANCIAL ITEMS
24-17 Motion by made Mr. Heck, seconded by Mrs. Weirich to approve the following financial items:
1. The minutes from the March regular meeting and April special meeting were approved.
2. The monthly financial report for March 2017 was presented.
3. Approved the enrollment in the Ohio SchoolComp Workers Compensaton Group Retrospective Rating Program for calendar year 2018; annual fee $3,320 and estimated savings of $31,889
4. Approved the release of current funds in the Minuteman Alumni Scholarship Fudn in the amount of $2,007.26 to the Lexington Alumni Association to be combined with additional funds for the same scholarship use through the Lexington Alumni Association and Richland County Foundation.

Maternity Leave: Approved Brittany Siringer's request for maternity leave form the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year until approximately November 27, 2017.

Approved the contract with RC Therapy Services for physical therapy services for the 2017-2018 school year.
Roof Bid: Approved the Worner Roofing bid for the high school roofing project.

Linda Volz - Superintendent/Board Office Secretary
2. Architect Interviews - Mr. Ziegelhofer asked the Board to review calendars for possible available dates in the first half of May to conduct interviews of architectural firms.
3. Online Curriculm - Mr. Ziegelhofer shared with the Board that letters have been sent to the families of District students who are currently home schooled or attending a community school to inform them of Lexington's online curriculum now available as a possible option.
4. Building Tours - Building tours for the Board previously scheduled for Saturday, April 29th, were rescheduled for Saturday, June 10th at 8:00 a.m.

Certificate Section 5705.412, Ohio Revised Code
It is hereby certified that the Lexington Local School District Board of Education, Richland County, Ohio, has sufficient funds to meet the contract agreement, obligation, payment or expenditure for the above, and has in effect for the remainder of the fiscal year and succeeding fiscal year the authorization to levy taxes which, when combined with the estimated revenue from all other sources available to the district at the time of certification, are sufficient to provide operating revenues necessary to enable the district to operate an adequate educational program on all days set forth in its adopted school calendar for the current fiscal year and for a number of days in the succeeding fiscal year equal to the number of days instruction was or is scheduled for the current fiscal year.
