The Lexington Board of Education met in regular session in the high school auditiorium at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2015.
Mr. Robert Whitney, President, called the meeting to order. Roll was called by the Treasurer.

VISITORS / COMMUNICATIONS / RECOGNITIONS
Mr. Whitney welcomed visitors to the meeting and asked if any visitors would like to be recognized.
Student Representative, Joel Nirmalnath, provided the student report to the Board, covering athletics,
music, academic awards, last day of school, finals, and graduation to be held May 31st.
The Board recognized and thanked Joel as the outgoing student representative. Cameron Kindred was
introduced as the incoming student representative for the 2015-2016 school year.
Mr. Ziegelhofer recognized the 2014-2015 Lexington Local School District retirees.
Each retiree in attendance shared their experiences in their careers and
the Board thanked them for their service to the District and its students.
Retirees in attendance included Mrs. Nancy Banks, Mr. Richard Dunn, Mr. Paul Dawson and Dr. Steve Lifer.
High School Principal, Jeremy Secrist, recognized Joel Nirmalnath as a National Merit Scholar,
noting that this distinction is limited to approximately 8,000 students nationally
out of 1.5 million students who participate in the PSAT exams.

3. Accepted $400 donation from the Techman Sales for high school after prom.

Coaching Recommendations: Visitor David Kuhn shared a prepared statement regarding the recommendations of the junior varsity and varsity girls' basketball coaches for the 2015-2016 school year. This item was tabled for discussion within executive session.
Class of 2015: Approved the graduating class of 2015 pending successful completion of all graduation requirements.
Diplomas: Approved Jeff Strickler, as selected by the senior class, to pass out diplomas at graduation.
Tuition Students: Approved the following tuition students for the 2015-2016 school year:

Substitute List: Approved the revised Lexington substitute lists dated 04/14/2015 and 04/28/2015 as presented by MOESC.
Roof Project Bids: Approved the roof project bids for Eastern and Western Elementary (Alumni Roofing for the Eastern project and Worner Roofing for the Western Project. Both projects are 2015-2016 permanent improvement projects and are scheduled for completion prior to August 1, 2015.
MOESC Contracts: Approved the FY' 16 843 & 845 contracts with MOESC.

1. Troy Township Fire Department Request - Mr. Ziegelhofer indicated he had been in contact with District legal counsel, Andrew Burton, to address previous concerns expressed by the Board. Mr. Ziegelhofer shared an agreement drafted by Mr. Burton fo rthe Board's review and consideration.

It is hereby certified that the Lexington Local School District Board of Education, Richland County, Ohio, has sufficient funds to meet the contract agreement, obligation, payment or expenditure for the above, and has in effect for the remainder of the fiscal year and succeeding fiscal year the authorization to levy taxes which, when combined with the estimated revenue from all other sources available to the district at the time of certification, are sufficient to provide operating revenues necessary to enable the district to operate an adequate educational program on all days set forth in its adopted school calendar for the current fiscal year and for a number of days in the succeeding fiscal year equal to the number of days instruction was or is scheduled for the current fiscal year.
