Lex Leaders Spread Christmas Joy

Lex Leadership Council spent the day packing gifts for children in our community at the New Store and Crossroads Church! They worked hard to help bring Christmas joy to local families and showed what leadership and service look like in action. We’re proud of their generosity and commitment to giving back this holiday season!
Smarties Stacking Challenge

Ms. Rush's second graders at Central learned about perseverance through the Smarties Stacking Challenge! Using only one hand, they had 20 seconds to stack as many Smarties as possible. With practice, they improved and discovered that persistence helps in all areas of life, including academics!
Cross Country Youth National Championships

Recently, 6th graders Kaylee and Jaxon competed at the Cross Country Youth National Championships and represented Eastern and the state of Ohio with pride! Kaylee placed 51st out of 235 runners with a time of 12:32.3. Jaxon placed 54th out of 262 runners with a time of 11:53.26. What an incredible achievement on a national stage! We’re so proud of their hard work, dedication, and bright futures in running.
Junior High Robotics Team

The Junior High Robotics Team traveled to Highland Middle School recently to compete in the VEX IQ Mix & Match Tournament, and they had an amazing showing! Team Highlights: • Teams placed 4th, 5th, and 12th overall • The team of Audrey I., Bella P., Ben G., Emilia W., Mallory G., and Kameron L. earned 2nd place in the Skills Competition • And bringing home our first-ever robotics award, the Innovative Award, was the team of Corey L., Gabrielle R., Grayson W., Jacob J., Konnor F., and Tyson E. We are so proud of these hardworking students and their incredible teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Congratulations, Robotics Team, and good luck at your next competition!
Donuts vs. Muffins

Donuts vs. Muffins! Kindergarten students at Western had a yummy opinion-writing showdown! Students cast their votes for the tastier treat, donuts or muffins, then wrote about their choice and celebrated with a delicious snack. We love seeing our youngest learners practice writing in such a fun and yummy way!
6-7 67th Day of School

Western Elementary had a little fun with numbers as they celebrated 6-7 on the 67th day of school! Students and staff joined in the playful countdown, making it a day full of smiles and school spirit!

Lexington Middle School celebrated the 67th day of school in the only way that made sense… by going FULL 67! If you can’t beat the trend, you lean all the way in, and we absolutely did. We hid 67 “6 & 7s” around the building for students to find and redeem for prizes. We blasted hits from 1967 between class periods (you’re welcome, kids). And yes… we had giant balloons, because why not embrace the chaos? It was peak unhinged 6 7 energy, truly the most on-brand day we’ve had all year, and we loved every minute of it.
Giving Thanks by Giving Back

Lexington High School’s English Department hosted a “Giving Thanks by Giving Back” food drive, and our students showed up in a big way—donating more than 900 food items to support local pantries. Thank you to everyone for your generosity and community spirit!
World Kindness Week

In honor of World Kindness Week, our Western Elementary kindergarteners decided to focus their kindness on real-life heroes—firefighters! They spent the week creating small acts of appreciation to say “thank you” for all they do to keep our community safe.
Decorating Coffee Sleeves

Mrs. Knapp’s class at Western has been learning all about community in their Benchmark Reading unit, and they decided to spread a little joy along the way! Students decorated coffee sleeves for Nickel and Bean, so if you stop in, keep an eye out for these sweet messages and cheerful designs made to brighten someone’s day.
Turkey Trouble Reading Mystery

Mrs. Duffey’s class became detectives this week, diving into the Once Upon a Crime… Turkey Trouble Reading Mystery! Students cracked clues while sharpening their reading, spelling, and vocabulary skills — plus explored character traits, grammar, and cause and effect. What a fun way to learn!
Buckeye Imagination Museum Visit

Our Western Kindergarten classes had a blast visiting The Buckeye Imagination Museum! They explored hands-on exhibits, sparked their creativity, and let their imaginations run wild! From building and creating to pretending and playing, it was a day full of discovery, fun, and laughter.
Be a Buddy, Not a Bully Day

Eastern Elementary showed their friendship spirit for National Bullying Prevention Month with Be a Buddy, Not a Bully Day! Students and staff dressed like their friends to celebrate kindness, connection, and standing up for one another. Together, we make Eastern a place where everyone belongs!
Minuteman Citizenship Award

The Minuteman Citizenship Award recognizes students and staff who demonstrate outstanding citizenship and help keep our schools safe. We’re proud to recognize three members of Eastern Elementary: Dominic P. for noticing the laminator had been left on and taking the initiative to report it to the office, showing responsibility and care for his school. Mrs. Elder and Dr. Berry for quickly reporting an unfamiliar vehicle near the school, helping ensure it was checked, and reinforcing our culture of safety. Each of them demonstrated awareness, responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining Eastern as a safe and supportive place to learn.
Rotary Club of Mansfield Luncheon

Four LHS students - Owen G., Drew H., Katya P., and Lily T. - were honored guests at the Rotary Club of Mansfield’s Lunch-In, where Mr. Saris highlighted their many achievements. We are proud of these outstanding students representing Lexington High School with excellence.
Eastern Student Council Officers

Eastern Elementary recently held its student council officer elections! Fourth through sixth grade students took part in the democratic process, creating posters, delivering speeches, and campaigning for their classmates’ votes. Sharing VEX Robots

Problem-solving in kindergarten is fun! Western Elementary's young engineers worked together to drive robots, pick up blocks, and place them in the right spots, all while learning teamwork and critical thinking. A big thank-you to Mr. Dewey and the Junior High for sharing their VEX robot with us; our kinders loved it!
Collaborative Math Skills

Students in Mr. Richer’s math class at Eastern Elementary engaged in some exciting collaborative learning! Sixth graders worked together to explore how to convert fractions into decimals and percentages, strengthening both their math skills and teamwork along the way.
Dojo Points Reward

Mrs. Lohr’s students at Central worked hard to earn Dojo points, and their reward was bringing their favorite “stuffy” to school! These cuddly friends were right by their side, cheering them on throughout the day. Keep up the amazing work!
Football Frenzy Math!

Sixth-grade students in Dr. Berry’s math class took learning to the next level with Football Frenzy! Students solved GCF and LCM problems across four exciting quarters, racing to score touchdowns, field goals, and even safeties! It was a fun and fast-paced way to tackle math, showcasing teamwork and determination.
Junior High Gym Class Archery

Mrs. Wells’ junior high PE students are right on target! Recently, they took to archery to sharpen their aim while building focus, coordination, and confidence with every draw and release.
STEM Class Using Vex Robots

Eighth-grade STEM in action! Students in Mr. Dewey’s STEM class worked together to design, build, and code VEX robots that played soccer on the game field using colored blocks. From programming movement to engineering designs, these future innovators practiced teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity through robotics.
Mrs. Clever's Class Practices Scientific Skills

Students in Mrs. Clever’s class practiced their scientific skills by extracting DNA from strawberries! They carefully followed each step of the process and explored science in action.
Mrs. Perry's Class Learns Habitats

Mrs. Perry's class has been learning about habitats and how animals survive in those habitats. Her second grade class created habitats for their animals and included the things they needed to survive in those habitats.
Pirate Day

The 6th Grade students at Eastern had their annual Pirate Day, Sept 19th. Students had to set sail to different locations to solve math problems revolving around long division, adding and subtracting decimals, and dividing fractions. Once they completed their quest, the solved a riddle to find treasure!
Fun Lesson On Being Respectful

Mrs. Craig joined Mrs. Lamp’s class to lead a Connections lesson on respect — and it was such a fun, meaningful time! The students loved learning together and discovering what it really means to show respect every day.
